Two companies seek to sell medical marijuana in Leominster

LEOMINSTER –€“ Central Massachusetts now has two more companies seeking to sell medical marijuana along the Interstate 190 corridor.

At least four known companies are seeking to sell medical marijuana in Worcester, now Leominster has two license applicants before City Council.

The Worcester Telegram and Gazette is reporting that Alternative Therapies Group, which, in 2015, opened the state’€™s first Medical Marijuana dispensary in Salem, is seeking a Leominster location.

That company was the first to apply in Leominster, but it has been joined by Do Health Massachusetts, which is seeking to cultivate and dispense, the Telegram reports.

Do Health Massachusetts currently has three license applications registered with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

In January, the company was invited to send a so-called siting profile for all three applications. Alternative Therapies, which has two pending applications, was invited to send a siting profile for one location.
